Last night was a pretty good overall! Things are surely heating up, leading into not only SNME but the Royal Rumble as well! We’ve got a lot to talk about, so let’s get into it!
Kicking off Smackdown: Your NEW champ.. Drew McIntyre
This promo was actually really good, and it was very interesting with him saying that Cody doesn’t get a rematch. Is this a sign that we are getting ANOTHER Rumble win? Please God no… We also saw Jacob come into the mix and brawled with Drew. Randy came out too, and ended up getting attacked by The Miz. Hmm…
Randy Orton vs. The Miz
Loved the match, but are we getting more out of this? A Mania match later on? Or is this it? This was for the Fatal Four Way at SNME, but it does make you wonder. Randy did end up winning to make his spot known.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Giulia and Kiana James
The set up is there, for the break up that is.. and it makes me wonder how long it will go on. Does this mean they are setting it up for Nikki and Alexa by Mania? It’s possible! The match overall was pretty good, and Alexa Bliss got the win for her team.
**We got another VHS tape from The Wyatt Sicks.. and let’s just say that Bo Dallas is pissed. But where is this going now?
Cody Rhodes Promo
Anyone else think it was weird seeing Cody without the title, but hey… I am not complaining. The promo itself was good, and of course we got the announcement that he will be in the Rumble. I am BEGGING… for Cody to not win this again. PLEASE.. I would rather have Sami. My big pick is Bron Breakker.
Trick Williams vs. Matt Cardona
HOLY POP for Trick.. how insane was that?? The match itself was really good, and overall I enjoyed it. I do hate that Matt is losing so much, so hopefully that will change.
Damian Priest vs. Solo Sikoa
It was kind of given that this was going to be a “give away” match. We did see MFT join Solo, which of course invited the Wyatt Sicks to join as well for the attack. Howdy ALMOST had the lantern back, but it just wasn’t meant to be this round. It was enough for Damian to get the win tho. Now.. next week it will be Wyatts vs MFT for the tag team titles. Now.. the question is, can the Wyatts keep the titles before Howdy and Solo go 1 on 1? It’s a tough call, but I am very excited to see it.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Leon Slater
I am LOVING the open challenge situation, and I hope that it keeps going for a while. Having Leon Slater answer the challenge was THE call, because that match was AMAZING overall. In the end, Hayes did pick up the win to retain!
Chelsea Green vs. Jordynne Grace
We knew what this was before the match even started. This was just a way to get Jordynne Grace and Jade to go at it to set up a match. Which.. is where this is going overall. Jade is great and all… but this whole title situation is very upsetting. There hasn’t been a lot of hype since Jade has had the title. No big matches, no title defenses. I understand that they are waiting on the Rumble.. and Bianca’s big return but come on now. Over 70 days as champ? I’ll stick by my statement that if you are injured for more than 3 weeks, you need to relinquish the title. The same if you haven’t defended your title in over a month.
Sami Zayn vs. Ilja Dragunov
I was a little worried about this one, but also kind of shocked by the ending. These two HAVE IT with each other and the match was amazing. I didn’t expect Sami to pick up the win tho. It does make you wonder if Sami could be facing Drew at Saudi in two weeks. We also saw Trick Williams attack Sami after the match to end the show.
Overall: 8.4/10
UP NEXT: Monday Night Raw
We are locking in for Saturday Night Main Event, and honestly.. the matches are pretty solid. Women’s Tag Team Match, Fatal 4 Way to see who faces Drew next, Cody vs Jacob Fatu.. I’m pretty thrilled about this one.
