It’s the Smackdown after the Royal Rumble, and boy do we have a rundown for you. Things are fully in gear for Wrestlemania, and we’ve got a lot to talk about. So.. let’s get into it.
Kicking off: Cody Rhodes ATTACKS Drew McIntyre
I love Cody, but I don’t want this. I have a feeling it won’t JUST be Cody.. but still. It doesn’t need to happen anytime soon. We saw Cody going pretty much wild, and the promo he gave was even more wild. Regardless, this whole situation is going to be something else going into Mania.
Rhiyo vs. Kiana James and Giulia
I was actually impressed with this match overall. I loved being able to see Kiana in action, and I hope it will stay that way. Now.. while this match was good, I have a bone to pick about Giulia. You give her the title… and then what? Where is the singles? Why not have Kiana turn on her and give her the title? That is what I would love to see. While Giulia is wonderful.. this just hasn’t been clicking with me.
Carmelo Hayes vs. The Miz
LOVING everything Carmelo is doing right now, and this match delivered overall. It will be very interesting moving forward what we see with Melo.. and who will end up taking the title from him in the future.
Lash Legend vs. Chelsea Green vs. Tiffany Stratton
Another good match.. however I didn’t expect the ending. Going into this, I was happy with whomever going into the EC. I fully expected Lash Legend as she did have a very good outcome in the Royal Rumble last weekend. But it was Tiffy that picked up the win.. to get her spot. Please.. tell me we aren’t getting Tiffy and Jade once again. I would LOVE to see Bianca come back as a wild card next week for qualifications.
Wyatt Sicks Promo/VHS
Here is my two cents about this whole situation, since everyone seems to be losing their minds on Twitter. I love this story, it makes perfect sense.. and it has been done fairly well overall. It’s a slow burn story, which I love (personally). ALOT of people fail to see this and accept it. It does seem that a good bit of fans have the head space of “hurry up and do it, I need to see it”… which is totally relatable, I can understand that. But there has been set backs.. Bo was injured at one point, and then Mike Rotunda had a very serious medical emergency. WWE creative waits for no one.. and things had to change, stories.. had to change ASAP. While I WILL admit, it’s been a little frustrating, but it’s still happening. Not at the pace we want it to, but it’s happening. I do feel a lot could be done to fix it, but all we can do now.. is voice our opinions, and hope for the best. The promo itself: we did see Bo alone.. addressing that Solo is scared of being alone and falling apart. This will come into play alittle later on.. So does this mean we are getting a match at EC? Or is this a bigger moment at Mania?
Kit Wilson vs. Oba Femi
There isn’t much to say about it.. but I love Kit Wilson… and I love Oba Femi. I wish this was overall done a little better, but I can understand before going into a bigger feud. Now.. the question is, who will be the 1st?
**Drew was attacked once again.. and this time by Jacob Fatu. I fully believe we are getting Cody, Drew, and Jacob at Mania. And also… could this mean that Cody was the one to attack Jacob a while back? Because.. it would actually make sense now.
Tama Tonga vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
I enjoyed this match until the end. Why.. why in the world do the MFTs have to have help with every single match? I understand being heel, but at the same time.. it just looks stupid. Every. Single. Match.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace
The story within the story with story. I loved it overall.. Not only did we see Jordynne Grace and Jade having to co-exist.. but we did see Liv and Raquel co-existing as well. Miscommunication resulted in the dissolve of BOTH teams..not only that but Jade and Jordynne got the win. By the complete end, Jade/Grace have a match next week.. and the complete fall out of Liv and Raquel is in full force. Monday Night Raw is going to be VERY interesting if you ask me.
**Johnny Gargano is in shambles after his loss. MCMG and Fraxiom said NO to helping him.. so does this mean we are getting Johnny back in NXT? It seems like it.
Randy Orton vs. Aleister Black vs. Solo Sikoa
I didn’t know what to think about this match going into it. SO much could happen and anyone could win. I could see Solo winning, Aleister has been on a losing streak..so it was very possible this would help, or Randy… seeing that Cody could for sure be in the EC as well. After a pretty good match… it was surprisingly Randy. So the feud could start.. and I am happy about it. It’s nice seeing Randy go on to a PLE.. and possibly earning a title shot.
Overall: 8.4/10
