What a freakin Smackdown.. and I honestly don’t know if that is a bad thing or not. It’s full steam ahead going into Wrestlemania, and shat has hit the fan. We’ve got ALOT to talk about.. so let’s get into it!
-Kicking off Smackdown: Elimination Chamber winner Randy Orton
This whole thing (not Randy) has rubbed me the wrong way. So you are telling me that Randy wins.. in a shocking turn of events, but yet Cody receives a title match the following week? Hmm… OKAY… Regardless, we also got Trick Williams in the mix, and the two exchanged words and an RKO was given.
-Carmelo Hayes vs. Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr. (US Open Challenge)
While I wasn’t a huge fan at first, it grew on me. I wasn’t very much aware of Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr.. but the match overall was pretty dang good. The two worked well together.. and of course Hayes did retain. Now the question is.. who will be the next to accept the challenge? And who will end up being his opponent at Mania?
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Giulia and Kiana James
While the match itself was good, in my opinion. I have some questions and opinions on this overall. WHY in the world did they give Giulia a championship, if they are going to put her in a tag team? Why not have a feud with that? Are they gonna set it up for Kiana to turn on her, to take it? Regardless, I have this feeling we are getting a multi tag match or a ladder match at Mania..
Tag Team Turmoil
I thought this whole situation was interesting. The teams included: MCMG, Fraxiom, Los Garza, Wyatt Sicks, and R-Truth/Damian Priest.. Pretty solid group if you ask me. I am very happy we were able to see the Wyatts on the TV.. and while I didn’t think they really needed to win the match itself, I felt this was important to keep the story going. MFT (besides Solo) cost Wyatts their match, and in the end it was R-Truth and Damian that won. VERY interesting choice if you ask me. HOWEVER.. hear me out. Next week during the title match, Wyatt Sicks will cost MFTs their titles. SO you have TWO weeks without any promo interaction (in person, that is).. that is about 6ish weeks until Mania. The story is still there, but there is no excuse to make it more personal and more intense. We did get a small promo (VHS) from Bo Dallas, in which seemed a little more angry than the last. And in the little detail, there was notice his eyes were changing to blue. It will for sure be an interesting time going into Mania month.
Rhea and Jade Face-To-Face
SOOOO much drama. Let’s get into it. The social media interaction was something, and so what… Rhea didn’t like what was said. So what? She has a right to feel that way. Just as Jade as a right to feel the ways she feels. But the truth is.. Rhea was right. Jade has the body for looks.. for the “oooo and ahhhh”. Jade (in my opinion) can’t cut a promo, all she knows how to say is “I’m that bitch” and when she is in a match, she has to be carried the entire time. I said it on Twitter and I’ll say it again.. Jade was trained for AEW without any other wrestling training previously. No indies.. no other companies. Rhea went THROUGH it for a long time, and worked her ass off from place to place. If Rhea is in creative’s ear… she earned that shit. Liv said the same thing a few weeks ago in an interview about talking with creative and having an input. But.. where is all that hate? Exactly. Everyone just loves to hate Rhea. In my opinion, I hope Rhea goes out to Mania and takes it.
Johnny Gargano vs. Oba Femi
What the hell is going on? Is Johnny leaving WWE? Because this was sad. I mean.. 110% sad. I thought the last couple of weeks were bad… but I can’t think of a way this can go right again. Really hoping for the best tho!
Drew McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes
JESUS CHRIST… WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE? This was something else, and I don’t even know. We had tables, we had knocked out refs, we had Jacob Fatu… and we had Cody Rhodes winning that damn title for the 3rd time.. I get it, but don’t at the same time. Why put Drew through ALL of that.. just to lose to Cody again? So Cody could be in the Rumble? and the Chamber? SO this means that Randy is gonna win right? PLEASE? Or.. will we get a triple threat and have Sami as well? This would throw SO MUCH into consideration as well. Regardless, we kind of all knew it was coming.
Overall: 7.9/10

**It’s Twitter.. and my opinion. After last night, let’s chat about something. I love wrestling because it’s an escape from every day life, it’s an escape from all the madness. Does it make me mad? OH YEAH.. I’ve been watching for over 25 years now, and I remember oh so clearly staying mad for YEARS over the booking of my favorite wrestlers. Don’t take it personal, please.
I have SO many friends/followers that have different opinions than I do, and everyone is entitled to that. For me… that is my favorite part about wrestling. Finding people that have different out looks, and getting their full break down as to why they feel that way, and how things should be booked is the best. THANKFULLY.. the friends that I do follow are more level headed, and the discussion is civil. If you are a couple of the people that don’t even follow me.. yet continue to harass my inbox with bullshit because I think different.. then in the most disrespectful manor.. get wrecked.
