Oh boy, we are getting THICK into Wrestlemania and it’s gonna be interesting the next few weeks leading up. Last night was Smackdown, and I don’t know about anyone else.. but it was a little “blah” for me. Let’s talk about it…
-Kicking off Smackdown: Randal
Once again, we saw Randy come to the ring to address his attack on Cody and his attack on Matt as well.. in which turned into another brawl between Matt and Randy. I’m still on the edge about this.. why have Matt involved? What is this leading to? Or.. is this simply just a little “here you go” while Cody is gone?
-The Bella Twins vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
We all knew where this was going.. but at the same time, I was hoping for the best. The match itself was okay.. besides Lash getting involved of course. This fully makes me think that we are getting a multi woman tag team match at Mania for the titles.. Which honestly.. is the best in my opinion. We also did see Lyra and Bayley.. ahead of their match with Lash and Nia on Monday. ALSO: Is Nikki Bella okay after that? I had seen rumors she was injured during the match, but no major update afterwards?
-Rhea Ripley vs. B-Fab
Okay, this is my opinion on this.. and I’ve seen some mixed feelings. This was a complete shit show. The segment felt VERY messy and out of control at one point, BUT.. it happens, I can understand. The match itself was bullshit. It did not last AT ALL… and it was because multi people were involved. This fully makes me think we are getting two people coming in to help Rhea. But who? Iyo and…. Bianca? This would for sure be interesting.
**ALSO TO MENTION: I’m not saying B-Fab and Michin are terrible on the mic, I’m saying this was very disorganized and I felt it was too rushed and there was some miscommunication. There is always room for improvement moving forward!
-Jelly Roll vs. Kit Wilson
I’m not thrilled, but also it wasn’t terrible. I really wish we could see something different when it comes to having Jelly Roll… BUT.. I will say the reports have been very positive when it comes to Jelly training and be respectful in the business. Jelly did pull off the win, but also leaves the question if we will see him in a match at Mania this year.
-Carmelo Hayes vs Sami Zayn for the US Championship
So many mixed feelings on this entire situation. The match itself was VERY GOOD! But I fully didn’t expect to see Sami taking the win for the title. Do I think it was a bad call? OH YEAH.. but… we are now getting Trick and Sami at Mania. I still think adding Melo to the mix would be the right call.. seeing that Trick and Melo have a past.
**Drew and Jacob will be facing each other at Wrestlemania this year. The internal report was that it would be a Hell in a Cell match but last night it was announced that it will be an Unsanctioned Match! This does make things pretty interesting, and makes you wonder what all can happen. Regardless, this might be the better call!
-Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton
The match itself was okay for the most part. But it just wasn’t a favorite for me… we did see Kiana James get involved, which resulted in a win for Giulia. I’m assuming this means that we will be getting this same match at Mania for the US Title.. but the question is.. will Kiana cost Giulia and turn on her?
-Randy Orton vs. Matt Cardona
This whole thing was weird to me. Okay.. they had a match and it was okay for the most part. For me it wasn’t really anything special… but did add on to the whole “Randy is the ultimate bad guy” picture. Randy of course picked up the win.. and Cody arrived. This was THE longest way to make an entrance… in Cody Rhodes fashion. And of course there was a brawl between the two. Also.. why was Jelly Roll involved?
Overall: 6.4/10
UP NEXT: Monday Night Raw
*We did get to see the MFTs and Solo “apologizing”
*No Wyatt Sicks, which was a little weird and off to me
-I’ve seen ALOT of people saying that they are traumatized with Wyatts not being on TV.. I see it was they are preparing for Mania (possibly) and could be setting up for the announcement/”final straw” type of situation. I haven’t seen any indication of injury so I’m not really worried about it.
*Can we please get another hint that Rhea will have help?
*What will be next for Liv and Stephanie after the brutal attack?
*More from AJ Lee? Becky Lynch?
The next few weeks are going to be FULL of match announcements and MORE! Can’t wait!
