We are SO close to Wrestlemania at this point, and there is so much still to unpack. Maybe even a couple of more matches to be announced? Could the rumors be true, and this be the biggest Wrestlemania card ever?? We will know for sure on Friday at Smackdown! We’ve got a lot to talk about, so let’s get into it!
Kicking off Raw: Cody Rhodes
This was a little off to me, seeing that Cody is normally on Smackdown.. BUT.. I can understand for the most part. What I didn’t expect was Stephanie showing up and going back and forth with Cody. Am I crazy, or did that not sound like Steph could be the one who was talking with Randy? Regardless, it does make everything very interesting moving forward.
Street Fight for the World Tag Team Championship (Theory/Logan vs The Usos)
I thought this match overall was pretty good, but nothing majorly special. I fear they did kind of give it away with it being a street fight.. and of course… The Vision holds gold. Does this mean Jey and Jimmy will be out for a little while? Or will they come back in time for Mania? Very interesting to say the least.
Liv Morgan Promo
This whole situation went from 0-10000 REAL quick. I didn’t think this feud would get to such a level, but here we are. I am really enjoying where they are going with it all.. but I fear there is a twist coming somewhere. They are REALLY pushing Liv as the winning here, but what about Raquel? What about Roxanne… who in fact did return to help Liv take out Stephanie during this promo. Could we see a major upset with a turn on Liv?
Women’s Tag Team Championship: Lyra Valkyria and Bayley vs. Lash Legend and Nia Jax
I’m not gonna lie, this one wasn’t my favorite. And of course, it went just about how I thought it would go. More teams were involved, and there was a DQ.. allowing Lash and Nia to keep their titles. BUT.. the match was announced, and we will be getting a massive women’s tag team title match at Mania! This.. should be good. I have a feeling we are getting The Bella Twins for the win!
Brock Lesnar Promo
I loved this whole segment. I thought it was very well done and honestly.. I can’t wait to see Oba at Wrestlemania. I think the match itself is going to be great! But the question is.. will Oba get the ending he deserves? Also.. it was a nice touch that Triple H came out to try and “stop” things..
Intercontinental Championship: Penta vs. Kofi Kingston
I LOVE that Penta is a fighting champ, but this match just wasn’t it for me. I felt like it was just another push for Kofi and Waller to turn on each other for a feud. Regardless, we did get another Mania match in the form of a ladder match for the IC title! Now that.. I am excited about!
Paul Heyman/Seth Rollins/Gunther
I have no idea what I expected about this promo, but what I didn’t expect was Seth and Gunther to be announced. For the love of God, we can’t lose Seth. I feel almost like it’s a set up for something down the road.. you know with Gunther… and possibly Brock. That would make sense… but next week will for sure be interesting going into Mania.
Iyo Sky vs. Raquel Rodriguez
I enjoyed this match, and loved that Raquel won.. but at the same time.. it did push that we are getting Iyo vs Auska sooner than later. I don’t feel it is big enough for Mania, but it’s coming for sure.
CM Punk and Roman Reigns face to face
This entire situation was wild and has be for the last few weeks. I love they are really keeping the tension and the excitement overall. Even now, I can’t decide who will pick up the win.. which is a plus going into the match itself. Both men have attacked one another, so in this case.. what is next for the two?
Overall: 8.7/10
**I’ve seen ALOT of people talk about not having room for The Wyatt Sicks on the Mania card, but it’s possible. There is rumor for this to be the biggest Mania of all time, and they could in fact have about 7-8 matches on each night. I feel like by this Friday, we will have a good indication if they will be added.
